Winning Eleven Tournament

It is conducted in such a way that each person will have to play every other opponent twice. Once with club and once with country. They were 4 of us: Andre, Leon, Gavin, and myself.

This is the stipulation: Wins a match - 3 points, Draws a match - 1 point, Loses a match: 0 pointThe player with the most number of points after he have played all 6 games (2 matches x 3 opponents) is the overall champion.

Match #1
Leon (Real Madrid) vs Gavin (Arsenal)
The game started off with a bang with Leon bagging in a couple of goals before Gavin pulled back some equalisers. leon finally sealed it off with a 3rd and final goal.
Final score: Leon 3-2 gavin

Match #2
Andre (Inter Milan) vs Gavin (Arsenal)
I was in the toilet during this match but when i returned it was still 0-0. Gavin scored an upset win over Andre in the second half and Andre just couldn't get the reply.
Final score: Andre 0-1 Gavin

Ben (France) vs Andre (Argentina)
Andre still shocked after the lost to Gavin seems to have lost again when I scored first. But he didn't give up and managed to score the equaliser. The match ended in a tie after extra time.

Match #4
Leon (Manchester United) vs Ben (Chelsea)
Leon bombared my goal since kick off and took an early lead. However he missed several opportunies and failed to double his lead. My substitute Kezman scored the equalier in 90mins, forcing extra time. It ended in a tie. My second draw, both of us still unbeaten.

Leon (Argentina) vs Andre (England)
A rematch of world cup 98 and 2002. Andre still looking for a win was 'over it' with Steven Gerrard. Leon took all 3 points in this one.

Ben (Barcelona) vs Gavin (Arsenal)
After observing how Gavin played for the past 2 matches against Leon and Andre, i figured out a way to keep a clean sheet against him. Pretty even match with me scoring a solitary goal. My first win.

Leon(Germany) vs Gavin (France)
Having made some tactics to to his team secretly, Gavin managed to score 3 goals pass Leon. A surprising victory, and according to Gavin the first even win he had over Leon. Despite trying to attack, Leon just could not score a single goal. This left him really frustrated.
Final score: Leon 0-3 Gavin

Andre (Liverpool) vs Ben (Juventus)
This is a special match, made for the real-life champions league fixture
We will play 2 legs for this particular match, the winner getting 4 points instead of 3 because of the extra leg played and effort required.

first leg(Anfield)
Andre played at home first. He took the game to me and again go 'over it' with Steven Gerrard. He finally managed to take the lead by a Steven Gerrard goal. In the dying moments, I scored the equaliser, a precious away goal through Trezeguet.

score: 1-1

second leg(Delle Alpi)
I only needed a 0-0 draw to win this cause I have the away goal advantage. When things seem to go my way, Andre scored and took the game to a whole new level. He was celebrating as if he had won the world cup. But his joy was short-lived. I stoled the equaliser yet again, this time in the dying moments. Forcing the game to be brought to extra time. During extra time, I took the lead for the first time through extra-time king Zalayeta. Andre shook his head in disbelief. He now put 10 men forward trying to snatch the equaliser. And guess what, it paid off immediately. Cisse scoring it. The game ended 2-2 on aggregate and we had to settle it in the nerve wrecking penalty shootout. One by one, we took the spot kick intensely. I was leading 8-7 and Andre had to score. neil Mellor steps up. He misses! It was all over.

Leon(Inter Milan) vs Andre (AC Milan)
Another champions league fixture. Andre misses a few golden opportunities before missing a penalty during normal time. Leon grabbed the win by scoring the only goal of the match. Typical Italian scoreline.

Ben(Italy) vs Gavin(France)
After beating Leon 3-0 earlier on, Gavin was on cloud nine. He don't mind losing the rest and so it was a foregone conclusion. I tok advanatage of a few defensive errors and won this match 3-0

Andre (Brazil) vs Gavin (France)
Andre was stuck at the foot of the table with just a miserable point. He was merely playing for his pride now. And how much pride can he get, winning this match convincingly.

Leon(Italy) vs Ben(England)
With me leading with 12 pts, Leon need to win this match to edge me as he only had 10 pts. This time he was going to use his strongest team. The unbeatable Italy. He led twice before leading 3-1. After taking a 2 goal lead he switched to a very defensive formation, the so-called great wall of Italy. But I still managed to score a goal. But it was too late. My unbeaten run came to an end.
Final score: Leon 3-2 Ben
